Project of the Day (inspired by Pinterest)

Froggy Cupcakes

I am linking up for a Pinspiration Linky Party.

I saw this amazing craft and knew I just had to do it for my classroom!!

Check our her amazing blog!

Artmind

Can I just say that Pinterest is great?

I know we are all loving it right now. Amazing!

Anyway, I decided these would be a great homework incentive.

I thought about doing Homeworkopoly, but I wasn't completely sold on that idea.

I have decided that these scratch off tickets are the best idea.

I assign homework Monday - Thursday.

I will be keeping tabs on their homework with my clipboard.

Every student who complete their homework assignments all week will get to choose a classroom lottery card on Friday morning.
Homework Log for Index Card

I made the cards in PowerPoint.

After I printed them and cut them out, I added the small square of clear contact paper in the small square around the prize. That way I had a reference when I painted the silver paint and Dawn liquid mixture.

Then I mixed 2 parts acrylic silver paint to 1 part Dawn dishwashing liquid. I would never have thought to use dishwashing liquid, but it really works!

I had to do several coats to completely cover the words in the box. Then I glued the cards to bright colored card stock to make it fun.

I still need to make many more, but I thought this was a great start.

Here are mine. The bold font is Grilled Cheese BTN, the question "What will you win?" is Impervious, and inside the square is Chalkboard.
Lottery Tickets

Here is a blank version for anyone who wants it. If you want me to send you the PowerPoint version leave me a comment and I will email it to you! I hope someone finds this to be a helpful idea. It was very simple and I think my students are going to L.O.V.E. it!!!

  8. I think this is so cute! I wonder how many cards I would need to make to last the year? So you coverd only the part with the prize in contact paper? I would also love it on Powerpoint! I tried to get on Pinterest but it says I am on a waiting list....wonder how long that will take?
    Thanks!

  9. I love this! I also LOVE your homework log!!!!! I have so many questions becuase I would like to do mine this way instead of in my gradebook. What font did you use for the title? How did you arrange the cards on the clipboard so they would flip up? THANK YOU!!

  10. Thank you! The homework log: font is Rebekah's Birthday, I printed them on index cards, then start at the end of the clipboard, lay the index card at the edge, then put a small piece of tape at the top. Then lay the next index card on top and repeat the process. Easy!
