Music Tips and Tricks

{This information is from the educator that gave us the Clip Chart.}

Rick Morris

This website will change your teaching. There are so many wonderful ideas! I want to discuss his thougths on music in the classroom. My principal really likes us to use music for transitions, remember concepts, background music, and any other way we can think to use it in our classroom.

Introducing... The Classroom Alarm Clock!

Here are the ways I am going to use this tool:
  • Starting and ending morning work
  • Discussion time during lessons
  • Wrap up your work and get ready to start something new
  • 5 minutes before lunch to alert us, then at 2 minutes the song changes and we line up
  • Same alert for PE, Music, Art
  • Alerts for when kids are being pulled out (ESL)
  • End of the day
  • Timed tests
This is just such a great way to keep yourself on a schedule. You don't have to be afraid of being late or forgetting to send kids somewhere. This alarm clock is unlimited. I can't wait to install it on my teacher computer and get everything set up.

Do you want music that will get your kid's attention FREE?

Mr. Morris has many fun clips that are sure to get your kids attention. For example:
Click and see what other clips are available to you!

Test Timers
Click and learn more. He does timed tests with his students. These are great for that.

He has several free downloads that are famous theme songs. I love these!

I will comtinue to use music in the content areas, because it is a great way to learn. We remember so much more when it is in song form.

How do you use music in your room? Do you have an alarm like this one? Do you think this is a good resource?
