New vs. Old Newsletter - What do you think?

I am wanting some input, please. I have kept the same newsletter fro three years and I am wanting to change it up. My first year at my current school we were required to send home a newsletter weekly. Now that is not the case. I am glad about that because it was really a waste of paper.

I like sending home newsletters, so I am going to do it every month this upcoming year. Please take a look at my newsletters and let me know what you think of my new version.

Here is the "old" newsletter.

This is what I am thinking for my "new" newsletter.

I plan on having the calendar show what is happening that month like CBAs, holidays, tutoring, special events, and anything else I can think to add.

If you want either of these templates, email me and I will share! I just used PowerPoint, so you will be able to easily manipulate it to your tastes.

Thanks for letting me know what you think.

I really like this! We have to send home newsletters too but it really is a waste of paper. I am positive most parents don't even read it. I have been thinking about doing monthly ones and I LOVE how you have the qr code! I want to make a class blog/site so I may just have to do something similar!! I would love a copy and if you could share how you made the QR code and what you use for that text reminder thing I would appreciate it! Thanks!

I choose to send a weekly newsletter to my parents (our school does not require it though). As a parent of a young child, if my child was school aged, I would want to know EVERYTHING going on in her classroom for that week. Please email me a copy of your template! I love the code! I just heard about remind101. My coteacher and I are looking into using it this fall.

I love a copy of your template. I love the idea of a qr code and the text feature. That is something I need to look in to doing.

I'd love a copy of your new template. I've gotten away with just sending home a calendar every month instead of a newsletter for a long time. But I am moving to a new school were I will need to do newsletters again.

I choose to send a weekly newsletter home with their homework stapled to it (our school does not require it). As a teacher in a military school, I try to keep my rather busy and distracted parents up to speed on what's happening in my class. Please email me a copy of your template! I love the QR code and use it on my door for meet the teacher and keep it posted year round! I have been using Remind101 for 2 school years now and I LOVE it. I also use Pinger a free texting app that my parents can text me at without having to use my real cell phone #.

Thanks for your offer to share!

OMG!! I adore your new version. I did not do a newsletter this year (my first year in primary grades, so I was too busy learning the material). I really want to do one next year. Love the simplicity of your new one. Please share! piccolal@bellsouth.net Thank you!!!
